just go to this link, provide some details for few minutes and complete the registration.
once registered, you should be receiving an email confirming it. and then wait for some time.. probably a couple of weeks, then you should receive another email requiring you to complete the registration process.. yes, signing up or "pre registering" doesn't mean that you can just go wait for the upgrade package.
the second email will ask you to complete a transaction using your credit card to pay for the shipping charges. again yes, you need to take care of it. it should just cost around $10 - $15 i assume.. not quite sure, but it won't cost that much - compared to a $300+ upgrade right?? ☺
from what i know, the said os's launch will be sometime late october.. so i'd say, you may expect the package first week of november..
the registration (i believe) will end in january 2010. you might have to pay for the retail price if you won't register for this "free upgrade promo".
as i see it, this is a great deal. an os upgrade nowadays is pretty much pricy.. and who wouldn't want it for for a few bucks, right? i know☺
